Thanks Mist.... you are too kind! One correction..... the blade is W1.... made from a Nicholson "Mill File".... differentially heat treated. The overall length is 9" (just under 23cm) but it looks like a pen knife in those "banana bunches" you call hands!...... he he he.

It was forged flat and ground with a bit of a convex to it. When I put the final edge on I will roll it into a full convex. Thanks Rick

Well its not my first blade... just my first BIG blade

Messing about inbetween jobs, I banged out my first BIG blade (well over 7" anyway). Whatcha think? Rick Parang-u-Tang 5160 spring steel handforged 3/16" at ricasso 1/8" at tip tapered tang OA length 16 1/2" blade length 10 1/2" blade width 2" at widest handle - 6"lg hickory...

lol..... That was the day I finally sectioned my shop off in the garage....The 6ft walls were brand new.... it hasn't looked the same since! ..... you'll be hardpressed to find an empty space, now!!

Just do a web search on "Hudson Bay Tobacco Box" for the same model.... or just black powder or muzzleloading tinder boxes, char tins.... that sort of thing. I got mine from the Cash Manufactoring Company in the US. Scott there, told me that they sell about 10-15 a year... he just about...
