    carving a new home

Cheers - i'm still getting m head around it all :) That's very kind and I'd love to make it to the North Wood meet, but I'm actually spending a week on the west coast of the Highlands the week before - my first hammock outing! I think my girlfriend would be a little more than disgruntled if I...

    What are you reading?

I don'y really get to read much at the moment, but I've been finding a few good audio books of late. Currently I'm listening to Watership Down, read by Ralph Cosham - it's an unabridged version, but still great.

    Rings and things

Thank you, a little change adds the spice to life. The rings are a thin veneer, boiled/steamed, and glued around a dowel. A how too is a great idea. I'd never thought of doing one before.... Should be a fun venture :)

    Rings and things

I started carving wood spirits a lil while ago, but after seeing some tiki work I thought I'd have a go. Not your traditional bushcracfty carving but they're dead simple and a fun project. I also had a bash at bent bent wood rings.... Great fun. Walnut inner with a olive wood outer band.

    Hello (again)

Hi everyone, I spent some time around these parts in 2012 and was just getting my foot in the forest, so to speak. Then a lot of things happened that meant my time just went away from me. Now things have settled with owning a house and the other mundane things that modern life leads us to, so...

Mosquito Repellents - any advise please.

I generally use Avon skin so soft and tar soap which seems to keep them at bay. That said I don't usually suffer with them too much anyway :/

    Post office rant

The UK postal service is a shambles at times. I've ordered stuff from the states and Switzerland - On both accounts the items were on UK soil within 48hours of me receiving an item dispatched email. Then it took 3 days to clear customs - that, I can see, a little long but no problem. Then it...

So sorry to hear - my heart goes out to you. As has been said, time will heal. You never forget but it gets easier to remember. 3 Years on and for a moment I still expect to see my Old English, Axo, when I go in the front door of my dads house..... :
