Old bloke arrested for SAK in Devon.......

If the knife the police office is holding in the picture is correct, it looks most like this. http://www.knivesplus.com/buckknifebu-730bkx.html 3" lock knife with pliers and screwdrivers.

    Almost lost my Mora Clipper....twice

Been there. I lost a lovely buck hunter on a mountain in Vancouver, sad day. I now mostly use a bright red 'tradesman' mora. Even if I lose it it's a couple of quid to replace.

    Mora Viking 640 £2.49

I love that store. I have picked a few of the moras up with a plan to rehandle them. At 2.50 a pop even if you screw it up it doesn't really matter.

    What's on your porridge?

It depends, hot porridge needs sugar and a small pinch of salt maybe with cinamon. I have taken to letting the oats soak in cold milk for an hour, with banana, honey and raisins. It sounds odd, but the milk rehydrates the raisins a bit and the oats fluff up. Great in the summer

    Woodlore Owners...

    what sleeping mat?

Slim Airic. They don't feel as tough as the thermarest and don't self inflate as well but they are a fraction of the price. Inside a a good bivvy bag punctures shouldn't be a problem,

    Leather for Sheaths.

Sorry if this has been asked thousands of times before, I tried searching but no joy. Where is the best place to get leather for making small items like sheaths I do not need meters of the stuff.

    Gerber Suspension Review (pic heavy)

I am sure you all have seen this style of multitool before, balisong style pliers with tools within the handle. It feels incredibly sturdy and is held by both large and small torx bolts. 9cm long when closed, 15.2cm when open, the big base makes it ideal for big handed people though may be a...

    self stitching your wound

I wouldn't recommend it. Without proper sutures and cutting needles it is tough to do and you risk just doing even more damage and still not having a sealed wound at the end of it. If you are faced with absolutely no other option then perhaps, but there are much better ways to fasten bits back...

    Windproof jacket

http://www.fieldandtrek.com/karrimor-summit-jacket-443044 I picked on of these up over Christmas, it's amazing. Karrimor Summit, 60quid, reduced from 180. My only problem with it is the lack of decent pockets. There is one on the arm the rest are mesh lined vents which will work for...

    Gerber Suspension

I didn't know if this was the right place for this but a quick heads up or anyone in Manchester, Clas Ohlsen in the Arndale have a sale on Gerber Suspension multitools. I just picked up two, for £9.99 each, they come with a free Silva headtorch too. They aren't a leatherman but when you...

    Egg/Brain-tanning sheepskins - tips - picture heavy

thanks for that, I am looking to do a few rabbit skins for gloves, do you think the same technique will work or will it need changing slightly?

What would you change about your mora clipper?

I picked up a few of the frosts 'viking' mora for £2.50 http://www.clasohlson.co.uk/Product/Product.aspx?id=134843522 It doesn't have the rubberized handle that the clipper has and the sheath is terrible, but at that price I can make new handles and sheaths, even if I ruin a few in the process.

    Thermarest or Airic

I use a Slim Airic, it's fantastic for the price. My first did have an iffy valve and deflated over the night, I emailed Alpkit and they emailed me back the same day. They asked me to cut off the valve and send it to them and my new airic arrived two days later. I have never had better...

    New To Manchester.

Hey, I started at Manchester Uni last term and really need to get outside after exams are over. Does anyone know anywhere easy enough to get to yet secluded enough to spend a night (no fires)?
