Hey all, not really bushcrafty but my mate Bob from work and I went for a dander along Tarmachan Ridge, up by Killin, the route was courtesy of Steven Fallon walking website.
Started Early this morning, the Ben Lawers visitor centre is closed down but ample parking, there was one other car there before us, and two camper vans.
Parking up here you get a good head start on the height, and not long in getting in some good views of loch tay
The ridge was still dusted with snow
Meall nan Tarmachan in the distance yet to be conquered
An Attempt at using the Gorrilla Joby pod on a walking pole but i should really read the manual for the camera as i didnay get the timer right Bob has some pics ill post up later when i get them off him.
At the top of Creag na Caillich i decided it was time for some refreshment now the hard work in gaining hight was over.
Bob was quick to remind me the perils of alcohol on the hills, lowering core temperature and causing dehydration, you might think this is why there is only one of my usual two shot glasses but no, Bob was busy quaffing the other down
We still had a bit of ground to cover before the day was out,
Looking back to Creag na Caillich from Beinn nan Eachan ( i think)
Steep Scramble up Meall Garbh
Really steep, two hands and legs job.
Nearly at the top of Meall nan Tarmachan looking back over some lochs and the peaks we had covered
Finnaly one from the top looking down on lochan na lairige, and you can see Ben Ghlas and Ben Lawers in the distance
Bob has a pic of the final victory whiskey at the top that some friendly irish walkers took of us
it was all downhill back to the car after that, having been a nice clear and rain free day.
