Rabbit Stew by Nightwalker Comment (1)

Stew Pot on FireSaturday, myself and a friend decided to get out into the local wood and cook up a hansome Rabbit Stew. My first encounter with Rabbit meat was at the Summer Bushmoot (2007) and I didn't really enjoy the taste.

Scott my friend was sure it was down to the way it was cooked and he was keen to reintroduce me to this

Bushcraft on Television. by undercurrents Comment (2)

While Bear Grylls eats a spider, maggot or snake on Channel 4, eight obese Brits are shown on BBC trying to lose weight by adopting a hunter-gatherer lifestyle in the Kalahari Desert.
Bushcraft and survival skills are fast entering the mainstream consciousness through the airwaves.

Bushcraft pops up everywhere now and in many guises. The Discovery Channel has Lee Stroud (Survivor Man) trying to survive for seven days in various remote locations with little or no food, water

New DDhammock by Chainsaw Comment (0)

Just a couple of photos showing the difference between the 2006 hammock and the new 2008 version from Sandbags group buy.

The main differences are the mossie net is now finer (a lot finer) to keep out midges, there are new less stretchy tapes, you get a couple of bits of elastic instead of some 4mm cord and you also get 2 zips so you don't have to reach all the way over your head to unzip the net. Still no velcro to keep your sleep mat in place though but I suppose it'

Wooden it be nice.... by craven Comment (2)
wouldn't it be nice if a whole load of us normal bushcrafters got together a bought some land? just think, go out when u like for free, after the initial cost wouldn't think that there would be to much outgoing, protect the enviroment from being built on and the land would be ours, if you got enough people interested you could by more and expand so that you had a choice of woodland and pasture to explore, obviously land doesn't come cheep, but if you had say 20 or so people interested

A little explanation by Ogri the trog Comment (2)

Hi All, the last few months have been on the darker side of enjoyable. At first, the idea of having no job and being free to do as I pleased was exciting and a bit of an adventure. So I haven't been the pleasantest of people to be around lately - and sadly those who have suffered the most have been my family. Hence I've not been adding to my blog as a means of steering

Winter progress by Pablo Comment (0)

We're now well into winter. So far it's been quite mild with only a couple of days frost, so I've not really been able to test out my "wool" revolution. I've swopped out a couple of clothing items (noticably undergarments) for wool products. It's certainly
