| Anglesey by firecrest | Comment (0) |
I had a great weekend, I met with 15 members of my family for `Ladies weekend` in Anglesey in a small caravan. Its amazing we all fit, we mostly all had to sit outside. Its not often we all get together in one place. In between the drinking we looked for snakes and birdwatched, and hunted for pignuts which was unsuccesful. On saturday we went to a carboot sale where I picked up a 4 season gelert lynx 400 sleeping bag for 12 quid and a whole box of kid leather skins for a fiver.

Have you ever been to a place in the woods that you know very well, yet approached it from a completely new direction? I did this last week, and for a few pleasantly confusing seconds I was somewhere new. Granted, it was a lovely summer evening, the light was magical and I was preoccupied with a noisy owl that wouldn't sit still, but the place just looked, well, different.
Odd? Assuming that at 38 senility is not setting in, it was a stark reminder of how easy it is to

| Lovely Sunday afternoon by Tony | Comment (2) |
Umm, I had this mostly written out when I pressed the wrong X which closed it all down :-(
Right I’ll try again :-)
It was a beautiful day yesterday so we decided to go for a lovely Sunday afternoon walk in some local woods that a couple of my

| Legs suffering from good weather by Lithril | Comment (0) |
Fantastic weather and the Trailwalker rapidly looming I've been determined to get moderately fit this year. Plenty of cycling, walking and running was called for. 18mile bike ride on Friday, leading a DoE exped at the weekend, another 18 miles on Monday followed by a run yesterday. Jumped on the bike to come to work today and legs were really not happy, now trying to decide whether I've got enough to get home or weather the short trip to the train station is called

| New Forest - 07/06 by Lithril | Comment (1) |
Another DoE weekend, 25 kids, 5 adults and a chance to try out some new kit. Weather looked like it was going to be scorcher so should be good. I love this time of the year, the New Forest is absolutely teeming with wildlife, booming year for birds, not seen quite so many in a long time - Curlews, Stone Chaffs, Finches, Robins, Kestrals were all in abundance and to top it off the quite an entertaining evening watching the antics of the Jays trying to steal pasta from the kids saucepans. Unfortuanately there is

| Still up :-) by Tony | Comment (2) |
I got up this morning thinking about all the things I’ve got to do and all I’ve neglected but first thing i had to do was check the site and it's all working right so I’m a happy camper....Umm, I wish I was!
Need to get the kids out today, although it's Erin's birthday and she's having a little party later so I’m not sure how I’m going to do that, maybe get them out canoeing later...hopefully :-) If not I’ll be stuck all day
