June 10th - Bunny Wars by British Red Comment (1)

Saw this young lad today - he'd clearly been in the wars (check out the top of the left ear) and was very lethargic although he did wander off when I got too close.

Kind of hope he recovers since I sympathise with those under the weather right now

Busy busy busy by Ogri the trog Comment (1)

Oh well, missed a few days there, been doing the family thing and finding lots of excuses not to report in.

As I get ever closer to the inevitable day of my redundancy, and for now anyway, things are actually looking a little brighter than a few weeks ago. Our 4x4 is awaiting spares to get it back on the road - and a little financial assistance from the dealer it came from will be a bonus. I've also been shortlisted for a job that is only a half hour drive from the house, but it remains

Deer by Lodian Comment (0)

Last week i went camping with craig(a mate)  and my dog fimble. A collie cross lab with a tint of retriever.

We arrived around 18:00 , went and got a nice pile of wood while craig got the tent and camp sorted.

By 19:00 we had settled down with a brew and dinner(rice for me)

By 22:00 the sun had set and a sheet of fog had covered everything ,we put some nice pre split logs on the fire had our usual mindless chatter when all of a sudden we heard some hotgun rounds go

Childhood freedom by Tony Comment (2)

I was reading this article on the BBC site today and I also listened to Radio two earlier about kids not getting out like their parents did despite the statistics that kids are no more likely to get taken now than 30 years ago and far less likely to get run over.

It really made me think about the fantastic childhood I had and the freedom that came

Weekend 'survival' by Pablo Comment (2)

I survived the weekend visiting my folks. Yes, the stifling hotel was airless and hot while the the incessant sound of sirens nearly drove me insane. The sea-front meal was fine but gave me indigestion all night.

On the way home I decided on check out where I spent the first 6 years of my life.

The house was there and so were the woods where I used to play and

Smoker part II by queeg9000 Comment (3)
It's been a while since my first blog, I've been busy making some new wooden doors for my garage, so I can ditch the metal up and over jobbie. Well they're on now, so I've had a chance to finish off my smoker project.

After cutting out the top and drilling the baffle, I've now added a door at the base, for lighting a small fire, or putting in a gas burner.

Moorhens and Herons by British Red Comment (0)

You may recall I was worried that this guy had eaten all our moorhen chicks

 Heron

Well, it appears they just relocated the nest (we saw them do that last year as well). 7 little fluffballs are safe and well
