Busy busy busy by Ogri the trog Comment (1)

Oh well, missed a few days there, been doing the family thing and finding lots of excuses not to report in.

As I get ever closer to the inevitable day of my redundancy, and for now anyway, things are actually looking a little brighter than a few weeks ago. Our 4x4 is awaiting spares to get it back on the road - and a little financial assistance from the dealer it came from will be a bonus. I've also been shortlisted for a job that is only a half hour drive from the house, but it remains

More stuff to keep the natives happy. by Ogri the trog Comment (1)

I've been thinking and asking some questions about putting up my own web-page. We've had some visitors over the past few days, amongst whom was a young ladknowledgeable in these matters but I'm still not convinced I know enough to take the next step. Seems like you have to pay different people for either .com or co.uk adresses then pay someone else to keep the words on the screen. Had enough of working so I'm off-shift for a week! by Ogri the trog Comment (1)

Did a bit of fiddling in work over the past few days and created a collapseable tripod for over a fire - we'll have to try it out sometime. In the recent past I've also been playing with some of the Morrisons food storage tins mentioned by Wayland a few weeks ago and tonight I've put some photos up - might ttry to edit this to copy them here once I find out how to.

In work again. by Ogri the trog Comment (0)

So here I am wandering the web and I find myself gawping at more fire-pistons. I must admit I've developed more that a little fascination for these wonders of fire making. I've made a few myself with varying degrees of success, and I'm slowly learning what constitutes a good one, and a mediocre one. Theres one fact staring me in the face though, charcloth gets damp in the UK, no ifs - no buts, if you've been storing this stuff for more than a few weeks, the effectiveness starts

Another step along the learning curve by Ogri the trog Comment (0)

Right, so this must be it then. I can't promise to make entries daily, or even regularly - but its probably about time I explored another avenue to see what goes on.

My Bushcrafting takes place in fits and starts, as theres a familly and a household to run, animals and land to maintain let alone the vehicles and whatever else makes my time precious.

Theres some bushy bits I'm comfortable with such as firemaking, knotwork, even a bit of forging and bladesmithing, but that in
