The techno light has a four LED light unit encased in a high impact plastic body. Overall the light is very good with nice clean illumination. I do not think that the torch is any more powerful than the other four LED lights on the market. I could not detect any visible difference between the teknolite and my 3 year old Lucido which is also a four LED torch. The one thing that I did not like about the teknolite was the glare that shines through the clear lens housing that encases the LEDs and is used to turn the torch on and off with a twist. I found that if I held the torch with my arm straight down at my side it was fine, but when it was anywhere in front of me the glare was quite distracting, sometimes to the point that I could not pick out details clearly when I was shining the beam on an object or into the distance. I like the beam to be focused forward with no light leaking in other directions. To me, this would mean there was more light where it should be.
The torch is very comfortable to hold and use, although it is a bit heavier than some I have used this does not seem to be a problem. It feels well constructed and tough, with a positive on/off twist mechanism that is becoming more popular. With the Teknolite I was never worried that the light would accidentally come on in my pack. It is also waterproof which is more than enough to keep out everything the weather has to throw at it.
One of the main selling points with the Teknolite is that it has traser lights built into the lens housing. These work most of the time, I had a few instances where the torch was at such an angle that I still missed it. Three or even four of these would be very useful. Saying that, most of the time they allowed me to find the torch, even in the grass, and as with all these types of illumination the darker it is the easier it is to see them.
Conclusion
A good all round torch that takes advantage of LEDs to produce a bright and long lasting beam. I would consider the Teknolite if I was buying a general use torch or if I needed something tough, but if I was going to be out in the wilds for a while or I needed to travel light I would look at some of the other offerings on the market.
