My family and I went to Kippford, Dalbeattie,a couple of years ago camping in late summer.Across the way from the campsite was a forest, my son & daughter rose early one morning and we went for a walk in it. We left just after 6 and got back round about 1 in the afternoon and we never saw a soul in those 7 hours,it felt like we had the place to our selves. We saw plenty of wild life and my daughter who was just 8 at the time wanted to take the slo-worm she nearly stepped on back to the tent for mum to see!!
It really was a special time, those 7 hours just flew past it felt like we'd only been gone a couple of hours. My wife on the other hand had no idea where we had gone and was totaly suprised when we told her we'd "just been over the road."
