| Introduction & Overview to my new blog by Matthew.Passmore | ||
Well here I am at skegness writing the first entry to my new online
blog. The weather has been rubbish and I'm sat in my car, which I
can't drive yet having failed my test twice.
Well why am I writing this blog? In 4 weeks I hit the largest
milestone yet of my life, leaveing school and taking my final exams.
After which I will embark on fulfiling my ambission of becomeing an
outdoor and bushcraft instructor.
This all startedin the summer of 2007 when I attended the junior
woodlander with the Bushcraft school "Woodsmoke" in the lake district.
Which I enjoyed so. Much I later did the advanced Abo' course which
meant survivng in the forest for 3 days with nothing but a knife, pot,
some fishing gear and a length of string.....now I'm going up to
woodsmoke this July for a trial as an assistant survival instructor.
This is exactly what I dream of doing, I love canoeing, mountain
walking and hopefully climbing when I get a chance but bushcraft Is
different, its working with nature and not battleing its.
Hopefully If all goes well with woodsmoke I may get a more permenent
position but I can't see that happening, not now anyway maybe in a few
years.
But after my trial with woodsmoke I embark on another adventure, a 4
month outdoor instructor training course down in Devon. This should be
great fun but very difficult it is non stop activity for 4 months! How
much weight am I gonna lose! My wallet is also going to get
lyposuction with it costing me a whopping £6500 and I need to a load
of equipment.
I'm hoping to gain canoe & kayack awards and get a good leap towards
ML and SPA.
And after all this............ Who knows? Adventure? Travel? Horrible,
crippleing debt? Work?
We shall see.
Well I hope you keep reading and join me for my next installment,
probably mid June '08. Cya.
