Cramp balls are a very hard to find and are a bit special if you can find them, but you can certainly find king alfred cakes on any birch with various colours of white, grey brown and black they tend to be more readily available on felled birch trees.Just keep looking mate.
Find a wood with Ash trees.
They usually grow on older Ash trees (25 yers ) within 30ft of water (stream, pond or lake). I have also found them on old fence posts along the Thames.
There are loads on ash tree's especially fallen branches and also found on oakin the new forrest, i have found the isle of wieght has hundreds of them on there ash trees very easy to get a load there.
