New plan by Ogri the trog

Rightho, I've had a think and I guess that it'd be a lot more fluid to see this blog thingy as a weekly or fortnightly update on what is going on around here. There may well be exciting things happening some days but more often than not, its the slow steady progress that I'll be reporting.

Recent events have gone as well as could be expected and the Christening comes up this weekend - after that the diary settles into a more leisurely pace, so I'm hoping to get things done around the house.

I had a good long chat with someone who is close to us all on the forum, and it has inspired a few ideas - I just need to think them through and see if the possible course of action isfor me or not. It might mean a move away from the path of steady, regular employment and towards teh seasonal bursts of feverish activity that must surely accompany such a leap.

The good old WDA has offered me a grant to get myself retrained so that I can find better/different/other/any work and I have some ideas as to what I'd like to try doing but having never before considered becomeing self employed or owning my own business, I need to become familiar and confident with the ways and means of how to handle things differently. Curiously, one thought in my head at the moment is how would I bail out if it wasn't working without effecting my mortgage and family etc. I think I have a lot of things to study and many people to talk to over the next few months to really see if this is a viable option.

If it's got anything to do with the Job Centres or similar, be careful - be very careful....... I've been in & out of work for years, since coming home to Cornwall; and there always seems to be a snag in the 'small print' which they don't always tell you in advance. Indeed to be fair, the person you spoke to might not be aware of a 'killer' clause!
