First outing by Chainsaw

Hi all again, I was going to do a wee bit on my kit but I've instead decided I have enough to get out and have an overnighter. Not done a great deal of recce for this one but I may nip out on my bike tomorrow morning and have a poke about. Looks like one of the ones below;

locationssmall.jpg

Location 1 may not be so good, it's nice reasonably dense, mixed woodland but it's right beside the motorway so not really peaceful! Location 2 may be OK it's deciduous in a slight depression away from the motorway and is about the closest. Location 3 may be OK too but that wee blob at the bottom left corner is a farmhouse and it may be a little close for comfort. It's problably going to be Location 4, good mixed woodland and a bit of coniferous plantation. Looks like that may be my home for tomorrow night!

I'll take my camera and let you know how it goes. If I end up trudging home at 3am, we'll put it down to the bears!!

Cheers,

Alan

What software is that - looks kind of like but not the same as Google Earth?
Hope you had a good time.

Hi Jodie,

It's www.flashearth.com a sort of consolidation of all the aerial photo and map pages there is kicking about including google and microsoft VE (Virtual Earth?) We have problems in scotland with getting good imagery unless you live in a big city or near a military establishment. Flashearth usually comes up with the goods as you can check them all in the one place.

Just getting my kit together now, I'll let you knwo how it goes,

Cheers,

Alan
