| Work and canoe and lots of missed blogging by Tony | ||
Cor, it’s been ages since I wrote my blog, a fair bit’s happened although I doubt much of it is interesting to most people. We’re ramping up for the Moot at the moment, can’t believe that’s it’s next week, a whole year has flown by…It’s going to be great, there’s lots of stuff going on and it’s a great site. There’s been stacks of work going on in the background to getit all together, I always underestimate how much effort goes into putting events together, it’s worth it though.
The magazine got sent out after some hassle with the printers and also getting lost by the couriers, it’s amazing how it’s always someone elses fault. It’s a good mag though and I’ve had a lot of feedback that it was worth the wait.
I got hold of a Canoe the other day, a bell Northshore for the family to use, it’s a big beast at over 20 feet but we thought that it would be great to have something that we can all enjoy together, it’s fits us all in as well as any kit we might need, we need to find the time to do a camping trip. It’s a lovely boat. The rivers around here are a bit full at the moment though so we’re being patient, maybe there will be an opportunity at the Moot to have a bit of a paddle.
Picking the canoe up from Outdoor Active
Waiting for the rain to stop so we decided to eat tea in the landy, we never did get on the water
The kids are enjoying the high rivers though when they’re down with Llandysul Paddlers, they come home telling me how many rapids they got through, how fun it was to jump in to the rapids and practice swimming to the rocks etc I have to admit to being quite envious. It’s great seeing them get so much from being outdoors though, one of the best benefits of being in the middle of nowhere.
