Back from Hols by Pablo

We're just back from hols in Menorca. Not much bushcrafting going on, but we did manage to visit some archeological areas of interest, namely bronze age settlements with Taliotic structures, burial grounds and the the strange T-shaped Taulas. These are thought to have religious significance connected to astronomy (a bit like Stonehenge).

The final picture here shows a lunch guest (no, I didn't eat it!) I think it was a locust.

All the best,

Pablo.

Nice views there Pablo,
They look very familiar, are they out over Arenal d'Castel?

We went there the year before last and visited the Taulas too. Very impressive aren't they. Certainly get the mind wandering over what they might have been used for.

Andyn,
Spot on. Arenal d'Castel it is. I've tried to do a bit of research on the Taulas since I've been back. They reckon they are are of religious significance or ritual like Stonehenge. Most of them are orientated north south which means they could have been pointed at the Southern Cross (visible on the horizon at dawn about 1200BCE). Some have signs of fire at the base (although I couldn't make it out on the ones I saw).
Very interesting.
Pablo.
