Further to my ramblings of a few days ago. I'm now officially recognised as unemployed - its a bit new for me as I think I've only been not-working for four days since I left school - scary eh! Didn't get the job mentioned a few posts ago - not overly worried, something will come up when the time is right.

I said before leaving work that idealy I'd like to take a few weeks off to pay back the children for being a bear with a sore head. I worked permanent night shifts fornine years so I've got very used to getting up late, staying up late, eating at wierd times and especially being grumpy whenever it was daylight. There are some activities being run through the summer by the local leisure centre - so I'm hoping to get the family involved with some of the events - Canoe expeditions, Wildlife walks etc. All as a way of saying thanks to my kids for being there - they're great.

He doesn't know it yet but I'll be enlisting the help of a good mate to give me a hand at the summer moot. I bravely said that I'd do a demo on rabbit preparation, though I've done nothing like it before. Silverback has generously agreed to supply the rabbits and the Bucks Group deserve a mention for bringing them along. It'll be a very low-key insight as to what to look for in a healthy animal and some basics of preparation before consumtion.  I'm aiming at novices who haven't done any wild food preparation but I'll welcome tips from seasoned veterans as well. It'll be a few weeks yet before I can pay my due's but there nothing on earth going to keep me away from this years gathering - last year (my first) was terrific.
