Great day for wildlife by Pablo

The woods were very quiet over the weekend. The Rook chics had fledged (Ah.. the peace) and the undergrowth had grown to such an extent it was difficult to see any wildlife. This forced me to wander around the meadows and fields area where I came across some Bee orchids, Iris, Common blue damselfly and the bright blue male broad-bodied chaser.

On the way back, I followed a Barn owl complete with catch to his nest.

Pablo.

Corking photo of the barnie there Pablo - I do love raptors in all their forms but I have I a soft spot for barnies. The one on the farm is stupidly tame - I remember stopping the landy one night with him in the headlights once and he just lokked up and the look said "what? Eating my tea here do you mind?" smilies/grin.gif

Very cool piccs - more please!
