| Kids Fishing by Tony | ||
Today I’ve taken Thorin, Rowan and my nephew and niece Harry and Cerys fly fishing, although it’s not actually me, I’ve been more the lift to the big lake. There’s a few different schools around here that have fly fishing classes, my kids go each week and learn about fly tieing, casting etc and then each holiday they’re out for the day with the fly fishing teacher, I’ve just come along to help out and I’m sittinghere working as they fish away.
I am a bit frustrated as I neglected to bring my camera, I’m in some beautiful countryside and I’ve got little means of recording it and it would have been great to catch the kids landing some trout, maybe next time.
I’ll see if Thorin will do a ponnasing tutorial, in this next magazine he’s got a basic fish prep tutorial that he’s prepared. It’s great getting some tutorials from the young ones.
The rain is coming down so I have to sit in the Landy, I can’t say it’s all that comfortable with a laptop perched on my knee, I did think about getting a tarp up but I can’t help but feel that would be a bit of an overkill.
Happy days are here J Rowan as just caught herself a lovely trout, I’m a fair way from her but I’m watching through my binoculars and I can see the huge smile on her face, it’s a great feeling seeing your kids happy and even more happy doing things you can relate to, Hey maybe we’ll get her doing an article for the website. Fish for tea supplied by a 7 year old, who says this young generation don’t look after their elders.
Home again now and the kids have cleaned their fish and they’re packed away in the freezer, they had a thoroughly good day.
