A day in the garden by British Red

Aquiligia

Had a day in the garden today. Why? Well, I'll be off all next week and prefer the woods to myself. So, today was one for potting on peppers, planting out beans, transplanting seed grown shallots etc.

Also the chance to appreciate the flowers. I'm a lazy gardener and so use self seeders and perennials most of the time. I show my age in mychoices. Peony, Delphiniums and Aquilegia (above). Proper, old fashioned cottage garden stuff (well, I do live in a proper old fashioned cottage)

 Heres a few more

A bee on the "delphys"

 Bumble bee of delphinium

 Another, paler, Delphinium

 Pale Delphinium

Our Peonies are stunning right now

Peony

The roses will be perfect in another week - they are getting there now though!

Rose Bud

To finish - something a little unusual - my horseradish is in flower! A very pleasant plant to forage but good to grow too! Watch this space for recipes

Horse Radish

Hope you had a good weekend too!
