Night out hunting by spamel

I soent last night out hunting with Ratbag, we stalked a few hares and tried to avoid the farmers pigs that were very interested in us!

We saw a rabbit whilst we were coming up over the hill, Ratbag got an opportunity to try his new bipod out and got a good clean shot off, taking the rabbit down.  As he moved forward to ensure the rabbit was dead, I brought his rifle up and we left the rabbit on the fence out of the way of the foxes!

We moved further up the hill wherethere was another rabbit, so I stepped up and stalked towards the bunny, which suddenly ran under the fence into the same field as I was in.  I knelt to fire, but decided I wasn't stable enough, so went prone.  The rabbit was now a lot higher than me, sat on the bank, so I lined my shot up and dropped the rabbit.  I moved up to ensure the kill was clean and I had got the rabbit exactly where I wanted.

We picked up our quarry and moved back to mine for a brew and some skinning and jointing.  The farmer will be pleased when I tell him that we are keeping the numbers down, we just need to sort the corvids out as they have gone mad numbers wise this year!
