    Default Knapping: Pressure Flaking Techniques

This is a technique that I had come up with, it allows a flake to travel longer without endangering the point. If you pressure flake in you hand you'll need a leather pad large enogh to coer your hand and a stick (hardwood) Cut the stick into two 1 inch peices shave one side flat on both. Place the sticks in the palm of your hand on the pad the lay the blank accross like a bridge. close your hand and allow the leather to fold over the blank. This will help keep your hand from getting gouged and flakes flying into your face. Support the blank by adding additional leather under the backside if you are worried about breakage.
