depends what you plan on doing in it , its definately waterproof but its not very good at breathing so like all clothing on those lines you really need to layer so you dont sweat . take the layers off if your walking and put them on if your stopped any length of time, i personally dont have the kit but have heard from friends i have ridgeline gear and its pretty much the same . they really do come into their own in bad weather but for lots of trekking then your better off not wearing it. i prefare my swandri old bush shirt but the wife shrunk the sleaves so i need to get it fixed its an original ,hope this helps, wayne
I had a jacket and got **** wet through in the middle of winter on its first trip out, was might cold and disappointed, rivers west couldnt have been better dealing with my complaint. Offered me discount on the next jacket up, i never did buy it though as i lost faith in the product.
It was the seams though and not the fabric, one of their blankets would seriously interest me though as there is no stiching on its main body!
It is not breathable as mereside said, i believe the bib and brace get like steam room pretty quickly!!
The things that come to those who wait will be the things left by those who got there first.
