    Just thought I'd share these close ups as I really liked them after managing to catch the fella and getting him to stay put long enough for the photos

    Someone in another thread told me it was a grasshopper after I referred to it as a cricket.

    Isn't it great when you get these insects to sit still long enough to be photographed? I'm trying to learn their calls as it seriously helps identification. I'm not sure if yours is a common green grasshopper, or a green specimen of a field grasshopper.

    Either way they are nice pics of a good looking insect. Thanks for sharing.

    I'll stop being silly now.
