    Default Aldi generator - 59quid

    http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers...uys3_25515.htm

Anyone any experience of these? 3 year warranty apparently.

probably not true "bushcrafting" gear, but always useful!

No, but I know if I drove to Aldi they wouldn't have one by the time I got there. At the price its got to be worth a punt.
Dont thank me, its what I do.

    It's a 2-stroke engine though. I wonder how loud that'd be?

    Still an attractive price though.

You missed out - I brought some very nice Beijing (no idea what it was - don't read Chinese) liquor to North Woods earlier in week. 57% proof, and even Martin wouldn't drink it after one sip........................

    Bottle was pretty though..

I have a similar generator, it's ok for running a tv and a couple of lights in a power cut, but wont boil an electric kettle or run an electric drill.
I am not young enough to know everything.

Got one in Camberley Aldis - they had a stack of them.

Will let you know how it goes as soon as I can get some Aspen 2 and 2-stroke oil!

Edit - cancel the 2-stroke oil - it comes already mixed into the Aspen 2T.........Pricy, but can be left in the tank indefinitely and won't gum up (and having had to scrap a 2-stroke outboard in the past because everything gummed up horribly, I'm a bit sensitive about that....)

A lot of their stuff, if you read the warrenty, says 'incase of problem, send back to manufacturers'.... Wolf, no less!!!!

It is far better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission.
