Wow. They're pretty amazing. Do you think the stoat follows a particular martial art discipline? Or is he just freestyling? Lmao.

Am I imagining it or does the rabbits eyes look a bit puffy as if it had myxomatosis?

Great photos, I've seen this first hand although both parties ran in opposite directions after the first strike, I guess the stoat got a kick for his troubles

Yes. Great Photos. The stoat has greater stamina, they just keep on chasing the rabbit, until they wear it down. It's a hell of a chase to watch

I think the Rabbit is ten times its weight, but they normally drag them off somewhere private to eat them.

Fantastic pictures I remember seeing a rabbit being brought down by a stoat years ago when I was working at the ordinance factory in Somerset. the rabbit was trying to out run the stoat but the stoat found a burst of energy and pounced onto the rabbits back and bit through the back of it's neck stopping the rabbit straight away. the part of the chase I saw was only about 5 or 6 seconds but it was amazing to see.

Excellent. Only ever seen one stoat and he was runnng away from the car.

Amazing shots and interesting to see attack from the front. Have heard that rabbits tend to freeze in front of a stoat, but most of the stoat kills I have seen on poultry and rabbits the kill is a bite through the back of the skull.

Amazing photos. I started work as a 'keepers boy on an estate which had loads of gravel pits which were then landfilled and reclaimed as grassland. Never seen anywhere with so many stoats (and rabbits), I learnt a lot about them and have an enormous respect for them. Someone once said that if a stoat was the size of a Labrador men wouldn't dare walk in the countryside. Glyn.

Dont see any Myxy there, the coat looks very nice condition. Nice attack from the blind spot!

I think having a scaled up stoat after you would be very bad news !

Our domesticated 'bunny' gave a stoat an absolute battering. We watched from the kitchen window (it all happened too quick for us to get out into the garden) as the stoat went into the cage. There was a lot of thumping and banging and the stoat shot out like a rocket. The rabbit was completely unhurt.

Mind you, it is a big old bunny that is going a bit senile. It 'growls' when humans (apart from SWMBO) go near it...I wouldn't take it on
