    Default Jakes first woodland wander

This afternoon saw a very special event for myself and Lisa
Jake had his first walk around our local woods!
first off Jake and his big sister released the painted lady butterflies Shannon had reared from caterpillars

A gentle amble along a woodland trail

Before introducing Jake to a grandfather Oak tree

Jake investigated what he could spy

Jake and Shannon did some tree climbing

we then wandered further along to where the RSPB is converting an old sand quarry back to heath land

Jake really seemed to enjoy the view and looks like he could wander for hours

let it be known that after walking down a steep slope Jake decided he couldn't walk for hours after all and daddy had to carry him back to the car
nothing like starting them young eh?
not the most 'bushcrafty' of trips out but wanted to share
thanks for looking and coming with us

    Looks great Sam

I know its a harness - but in a couple of shots, Jake looks like he is wearing a daysack with hydration system

Give it another six months...... we're just working out beakers at the moment
i specifically wanted a pack rather than the traditional harness to get him used to wearing a pack (it didn't have anything in it this time maybe next time)
