    Default Finnish Bushcrafting Television Show

Erätulilla is a Finnish prime time television show produced by Yleisradio, Finland's national public-broadcasting company. They produce about 24 half an hour long episodes each year, twelve during the spring and summer and twelve during the autumn and winter. The content of the episodes are a wild mixture of travelling around Finland, on how to make wooden skis, hunting game, fishing etc.

The newest episodes can be watch through online from Yleisradio's web site but only for limited amount of time, usually around a month from the first screening. I'll try to update this thread after a new episode has been released to online.

Martti, could you tell me the name of the vehicle the three fishermen friends are driving about in.
It reminds me of a landrover forward control that my mate has. His one has a V8 engine and does gallons to the mile but great fun lol.

It's a Finnish-made Sisu A-45 or "Proto-Sisu" as they call it here in Finland. It was designed to be used by the Finnish Defence Forces during the 1960s and some 500 were made. They have sold off most of their vehicles and I have understood it is quite popular off road vehicle especially up in the North. The next model made after the A-45, SA-150, is still being used by the FDF. Most of the A-45s are equipped with diesel Leyland EO.401.

Are we talking about the same episode? I think in one of the previous episodes (not available online anymore) they were driving shortly with a Sisu but it could be that in later episodes they used a Volvo (as shown in my opening post).

New year, new episodes of Erätulilla. Peltsi at Nuuksio National Park with a dog. Ice fishing in October. It seems the new episodes can be only accessed in Finland or through a Finnish proxy.
