So the fact that I'm double the safe load weight shouldn't be an issue then. Even if I eat the sausage reinforcement.

Due to a hectic week and now weekend, we can't make it. I'm sure Spandit and Hugo will share my news.

We MAY make it one of the days but we're not counting on it.

    Ditto, hope everything is ok?

Widu, do you want me to give Spandit the money for my part of the chute costs at the weekend if you dont make it down?

T news is good news- a rather spiffing job for a reasonably well known survival aids supplier I'll have to watch my affiliations now! First week this week, hence the chaos and we've also decided to sell our motorhome , so if anyone has £23k to drop on one let me know. The weekend will be spent cleaning and clearing out the MH.

If anyone is desperate to give me chute money, I'm sure Spanders will hold it for me. I owe him a couple of £s anyway

Nice one Andy, pleased for you mate. Shall we postpone the leatherwork until we have the full compliment? It's going to take a day and with late arrivals on Saturday, and some no shows, there's not many people to take part/advantage of it. Seems silly to do it twice. What do you lot think?
    Cheers

That's great news, wish I had the cash for the camper van, sweet little home from home

I reckon there is some whippet racing going on somewhere in Sussex, cleaning the van indeed.

Robin, do you still want a canvas sack for your chute, if so what measurements do you want it to be.

Nearly had to pull out due to no transport, but Jack's kindly offered to drop me off on Friday (cheers mate!). I'll have some old cypress logs for the fire too.

What do we think on the leatherwork then? Postpone it until all the regulars are there or do it anyway? I don't really fancy carting all the gear over twice, and Iona is dropping me off on Friday so I'm limited for space this trip. Next time would suit me better tbh. I can bring a big section of Birch for carving instead (if it's not sun-dried in my porch).
    Cheers

You've made my mind up Stew, that's sorted then! Leatherwork next time! It'll be cheaper with more people anyway as there will be more to divvy up the hide between that Spandit kindly purchased.
    Cheers

Am sitting by the pool in the house we rented in Majorca with the faint smell of BBQ wafting in the air, with a glass of decent Rioja red wine in my hand. Spent the day on the beach under my silnylon tarp reading Mor's classic Buschcraft book. Having a great time & hope to show upon Sunday morning, probably with a bright red face.

I wouldn't worry about that. Took me three goes to make my first visit.

Is a basic knife cuts and safety on the cards? I'm always interested in a new version of safety, and am only getting into the rhythm of getting out and about, so seldom get to do much knife work.

Too much on to get down on Friday now, so I'll get there as soon as I can on Saturday morning (assuming the car is fixed!)

Noticed the list had gone wrong earlier: I think this is correct now:

    4 Jackcbr
    5 Hugo
