    Default New Teenager from NI

    Hi everyone,

My name is Callum and I am 17 years old for Northern Ireland. I have just completed my DoE gold award and during it realised I really enjoyed camping.
After looking at a few things online I have become interested in survival and bushcraft. I have a book by Ray Mears on bushcraft which I am just starting to read. I have also found a few channels on youtube (Stoneage Bushcraft and Natural Bushcraft) which I have tried to take a few tips from. Would anyone be willing to share a few tips for some basic starting kit or some advice. I am also wondering if there are any clubs/courses in my area.

    Thanks, Callum.

    Welcome to the forum Callum.

I am sure if you do a general forum search on your subject interests you will find that most of the advice you need is already here and recorded.

Well done for the Gold D of E at 17. How long did that take to do?

    Cheers

    George

Right lad! Which county are you in? I live in Co. Down and being 18, I'm a young 'un on here too. Its great to hear another of the younger generation taking up the cause. Welcome to BCUK, I'm sure you'll find it very useful!
    cheers
