Slept out in it last night - very comfy (although wasn't ideal with a Therm-a-rest as a bit rigid - using my UQ wasn't an option for technical reasons)

I have the DD frontline and I find it a bit on the small side for me @200cm. I have also found it difficult to top the mozzie net from hanging down on my face. I think I might have had it set up too flat to avoid that banana posture.

I'm finding with a slightly slacker hang it makes lying diagonally - and thus flatter - easier

I can not decide between the TW Hornet and the Bivi, the Bivi because I prefer to be enclosed as I am concerned about the wind coming through the mosi net but the Hornet is double lined to allow for additional insulation. Apparently the Bivi even though double lined as such will not hold a sleeping mat etc for insulation according to TW when I called them yesterday.
I would be using a tarp over the hammock but how much does the wind affect sleeping etc?

For added info if you email them direct with an order they will remove the eBay charges that they normally get charged. TW hope to have their own website in the future.

Never seen the bivi before - looks very versatile (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zip-up-Enc...ht_8727wt_1167)

If you pitch a tarp properly, you can be pretty free from the wind - you could also sleep inside a bivi bag in the Hornet, which would allow for extra wind protection but it's so big that the sides come up anyway. I'd imagine the bivi would be a bit sweaty and claustrophobic.

Regarding holding a sleeping mat - they're not the best thing for hammocking but I found when I slept in mine the other night, because it was in a separate compartment, when it inevitably shifted during the night, you couldn't adjust it - nothing to stop you (or I!) having the mat in the same compartment, but if you can rig up an underquilt, they are much better

How weird. I love my DD. always have it taught with a thermorest in the compartment. Mozzie net tied of to tarp ridge line with spreaders. Best nights sleep going for me. Horses for courses I guess.
