    I made this today with the help of my new propane forge. 01 steel 4mm thick with a cherry handle.
    Canadian by Geography but British by Blood...

    A little rough but that was the plan, I might rehandle it eventually but it will be a user!

    Nice - I like the forged look

    What sharpening method did you use?

    Loving the look of that one, it has far more character than some of the clean and polished pristine examples.

    Love the handle material. Contrasts well with the metal detailing

    The blade was forged from 4mm on the spine to about 1mm at the edge ad then I put a convex on it.....shaving sharp it is!!

    Thanks for all the great comments, just a little update....I hacked away on some wood for a good hour or so and when I was done it was still hair poppin sharp! I'm very pleased and sorry that I promised it to a good friend of mine! I will be sad to see it go but I know he will use it daily!
