Oooh pretty flames, I now also want to try this out!
I used to carry some fine wire wool and a 9v battery (in separate compartments) as part of my pack for emergency fire lighting but temptation or laziness overcame me one trip and I never got round to replacing the wire wool, also a very effective method though!
Cheers, Hamster
I dont understand your concern, we are in the woods with fire, an axe and a book to identify mushrooms ... what could possibly go wrong?
If this does work with an AA or AAA battery then most of us will have those in our torches. I bet with a bit of cotton wool & Vaseline nearby you could get a fire going in no time...
Cool! Magiver style!
great.....but i dont chew gum....![]()
That I must try, wonder if it breaks the no smoke rule in a pub!! Even as a non smoker, just take the bits out of your pocket and offer a light?
Good stuff. I prefer wire wool though.
Until you've gone beyond the parameters, you don't know where they are
Tried this with the foil from a fag packet - it got hot & burnt through but didn't catch light. Perhaps I got the dimensions wrong?
Just a short circuit really if you do this fast you could have a couple of uses from it before the amperage is drained.
