    Default A real wilderness trip

Amidst the sudden surge of threads about getting out and about in Norway, flaming trousers, and so forth, I just thought that I should say that this afternoon my wife and I took a trip to Merthyr Tydfil.

That's just about as far from civilisation as it is possible to get.

We made it back ok, but it was tough.

    Beat that.
Stupidity got us into this mess. Why can't it get us out?

Glad you made it back, the region is bleak unforgiving and thats just the natives.

Do the pubs still close on a Sunday (strange heathen tradition, if you ask me )

Wilderness is all in the mind mate.

I'm about to take my aged terrier for a walk on the moors and when I turn my back on the city it's as wild as it needs to be for me.

I drove through Chard last week.
Didn't go too slow in case they nicked my wheels.

Did you come back from Merthyr on your original wheels? That would be a bonus if you did.
