    Default The second millenium

Hmm, 2000 posts. Where did that come from?

Now, traditionally one would post an obscure competition at this point, with a prize. Gonna have to work on the prize... will get back to you shortly.

I was thinking of asking for the post number of the single one of my previous 2000 posts that actually contributed something useful to the forum, but I understand that a competition without a correct answer is unfair, apparently. So I'm falling back on a caption competition.

I'm a bit of a wildlife buff, and in the course of my aimless wanderings whilst on this forum, I encountered the strange creature below. I believe it to be a rare species (fortunately). Best caption for the picture, or best name of the species concerned, will win the shortly-not-to-be-such-a-mystery-as-it-is-at-the-moment prize.

I'll give this one at least a fortnight, so 23rd April and a winner will be selected.

Many thanks to everyone on here for making this the best website on the net.

    Edit:
Right, decided on a prize. I need to do more woodworking anyway, so the winner will receive from me:

A turned wooden bowl or plate
    A hand carved spoon/ladle
A small wooden chopping board or a set of 6 wooden mug coasters.

I will pm the winner to discuss preferences about woods to use and details of shape and size of items, and the sorts of finishes to be used. I'll probably throw in a few extras as well.

Note that none of the above items currently exist, so I will make them after discussion with the winner.

Thanks for the contributions so far guys. I'm enjoying this...

I found the swiss army smock very useful, but the corkscrew was tricky to use.

He was pleased with his latest tinfoil helmet design, as the last one made him look just a tiny bit mental.

I think you found quite rare species, its a Ursus Enchanter. Its the offspring Tim the Enchanter and Bear Grylls.

Keep 'em coming lads. I have a clear favourite, but it has been decided that I won't be the one judging the winner.
