Default Sussex Group - March Meet - Photo's

Spent the weekend away with some of lads and one lady from the Sussex Group, quality time with quality people as per normal, learnt a few new things as well, so cant be bad, big thanks to Neumo for bringing his little forge along and thanks to everyone else for a great weekend

    Pics

    The woods

Hugo bringing a new meaning to 'tree hugging', he is drinking Birch sap - well that's what he told us

    Communal Area

    The camp

Hugo's new and mightily impressive home made canvas tarp

Peter, trying out his mattress, made on site using nothing but grass and string

Round the fire, the bloke in the foreground in the hat is actually Jason Donovan doing a rather poor impression of RockMonkey

Hugo trying not to cut his hand off

    Neumo and his forge

    Neumo & Jack forging

Job done and time to quench

The essence of Bushcraft, kettles, Bannock on the go (very tasty it was too) and a grill made from 'recycled' materials

    Glorious afternoon sunshine

Evening time now, few drinks around the fire

Woke up to find the clear skies had gone and the temperature had dropped

it soon warmed up once the sun got a little higher though

Looking forward to the next one, cheers guys & gal for a great weekend in the woods.

Blimey, right next to the conservators HQ? Volunteered there for a couple of years.

I might try and come to one of the next meets if I can manage to get out of my shell for long enough!
