Erm.. what info do you want?
Erm.. what info do you want?
Sorry it's been a long few weeks I could have been clearer about that. Is this just a straight restaurant where you need to book at table and eat but you can carry n drinking 'til closing. Or is it a kind of bar/restaurant where you don't have to eat but can just drink. We are likely to have people turning up at different times and possibly wanting different things. Sorry didn't intend to make it a hassle.
I've never eaten there. Just drank.

Best off calling them tbh. Always had different things in each time I was there.

Hi All
with monkey boy out our reason for Victoria is also out. Looking at everyone else's posts there's a recurring theme of Waterloo/London Bridge/Bank apart from Mesquite and Google gives his travel time to BOTH Victoria and London Bridge as 49min.
Does anyone have any objections to meeting at the George near London Bridge again? This will also give more time to scope out good locations for people coming from Southerly or Western directions?
George Details below.

Either/orI am trying to talk work into sending me to moorgate that afternoon, so either is easy.. just cant stay late
Hi Swallow,
What time do you think at the George inn Yard ? Confirmed on Wed 14th then ?
Yes. No objections so confirmed for the George on the 14th. Kick off time is whenever the first person makes it there from work. Theoretically I can make it there for 5.30. I'll bring an A4 sheet with BCUK on it as large as I can print and put it on the table. Can I ask anyone who thinks they are likely to be there early to do the same, in case I have an emergency/can't make it etc. etc.
If you are there first try and get a bench near a heater, though the weather forecast still seems OK.
I'll PM everyone here a mobile I can be texted on from 5.30 on Wednesday. Also good to check this thread if you have a smartphone.
I'll also re-post this on the London Pub Meeters Group thread, as we seem to have picked up 2 group members from outside these threads.
Leave time is either Closing time or whenever someone needs to go.
Will try to be there. Should be able to get there, I do have outstanding work in the exchanges.
Got to pull out again...
Grandchild no 2 is a week late in arriving already and as we're designated babysitter for first granddaughter wife wants me on standby for taxi duties so no gallivanting off up London for drinks until after the baby's arrived.
Had hoped this one would have been the same as 1st granddaughter who arrived on due date but it doesn't look like it wanted to cooperate with my plans![]()
Man of Tanith (on the subject of meets)
My wife struggled to understand why I wanted to meet men off the internet in the woods... now she knows
Just to note, even if it had have been moved to the 15th (thurs) I couldn't make it due to my 1st born to be's scan (also learning the sex)
Wednesdays are always bad for me!![]()
I'm on my way, should be there about 6. Will be wearing a brown coat with a "fur" trimmed hood.
Leaving in 15mins. Will be looking out for the BCUK sign and the fur hood.
Been stuck out in essex today, wont be in london til tomorrow, so I cant make it, sorry.
Had a lovely evening and learnt a few tricks on fire starting to boot. Who would have thought Swallow had a flint and steel to 'demo' in a London pub!
Yes, another nice informal evening, thanks all!

I enjoyed that a lot and also thought it was cool the way it was a nice easy flow and we didn't talk "shop" all the time.

London Pub Meet 3 is a Nor' Easter meet and will hang off the side of/combine with the Essex Pub Meet at Liverpool Street. Link for that is here.

Sticking with that thread for the dates as it is Tim's call on that and two threads would be even more confusing.
