Might be interesting so long as it's not out of that hideous camo material

id like DD to make a wider hammock so i can lay diagonally instead of lengthways, far more comfortable for people like myself who have a back problem, appreciate this thread isnt about a hammock, just thought id throw it in there

I would rather the 3x3 one was just a foot longer for better coverage over the ends of my hammock.

4.5 by 4.5 would be good - especially if it had lots of attachment points to maximise versatility.

In addition a new 'product' might be to supply kits for making your own new attachment points. From what little I know of this that might be a suitable needle, loop material, reinforcing material and ?glue. Failing that they could maybe put a tutorial on the site on how to do it/mistakes to avoid
One day I might grow up - but I hope not

I love my tarps and a 4.5x4.5 would be another great addition

I seem to remember a conversation about this thing at North Wood

If you dont mind me asking,..why DD?

i know its the first manufacturer everyone thinks of when they go to buy a tarp,..(i have a 3x3 myself)

    i also have a cheapo Quechua jobby, 3 x 3

    and an issue basha at 2.5 x 2.75 ??

    and i,ve just ordered a Tatonka 445 x 425 ,...

i just wondered why DD seems to be the first thing considered in most tarp conversations...

if its a bespoke item your planning then really ,..you could ask anyone to put something together for you,...with all the extra anchor points / tabs / etc etc you could possible need,.....

thats if a decent search about didnt uncover another manufacturer that may already even make a 4.5 x 4.5

I know what you meen about the first name that comes to mind being DD. I have tried a few tarps in my time, and personally I love my DD 3m x 3m tarp! but the extra room underneath would be nice, as long as the price was right.
Let us know what you think about your Tatonka 445 x 425 when it arrives, and how you get on with it!.
Anyone out there know what kind of price DD are thinking of charging for there 4.5?

the reason for DD is I like the light weight material the green tarps are made of. tatonka are just to thick and heavy. I Have not asked DD yet I started the Pol so i could take a number that would be interested so they could work out if it would be viable.

4 x 4 would be my ideal tarp...

I think DD comes into it, as pretty much all of us started with one
This is my firestick... There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I wish they would make one in realtree camo or a good woodland DPM the green one is so far removed from any shade of green I've ever seen in the wood and their DPM may as well be day-glo orange !

I'd love one, especially if they had 3 rows of attachment points instead of just the row down the centre line.

Say 1/3 of the way, The centre and 2/3 of the way

This would give us a lot more shelter creation options

I'm with Nathan, more attachment points are needed. After i've done a bit of research as to the best way of doing it i'm going to be adding some to my 3x3.

I've voted but +1 for this idea too. Maybe more anchor points for the 'diamond' setup as well?

More pull outs would be good, especially if they had duel purpose of pull outs when set as an a frame and for 'diamond'.

I will be putting this forward to them within the next few weeks and will also request the extra attachment points.

    hi miles8 re; dd tarps.
id like to see more colors ? mossy oak, brown, woodland marpat, i agree on more attachment points, i agree on custom sizes too
wider to create more shelter but shorter just to cover the lenght of hamock, also the web is awash with tarps
buy the webbing material n sew ur own attachments?

Does anyone know why DD dropped six of the attachment points on the DPM tarp? Apparently it used to have 19 but now has just 13.

A few more would have been helpful for pullouts as well as for pitching it diamond style.

Yes - but only if they had a series of loops / tie-downs that meant you could use it in a smaller scale (e.g. 4.5x 2.25, 4.5x3)

the DD Multi Camo tarps now have less attachment points as they had a problem with them tearing down the length of the tarp at the bottom by having less attachment points it seems to have solved this problem.
