Default Flat Feet On The Fens

Went out for a walk on the fens. Nice enough day tho windy. Was just planning a 6 or 7 mile walk and then home in the PM and just took a brewkit, camera and fags. There are no woodlands nearby just flatlands.

Had a brew up just before i headed back

As i stood up from packing my kit away i heard a sort of tearing sound from my right boot

By the time i had flip-flopped my way home again it was like this..

I am now in the market for some new boots. Enjoyed the day but couldve done without the boot failure

That happened to me once in Snowdonia, except the sole came off almost entirely. I crouched down to look at the damage, and my trousers (a bit tight if I'm honest) split down the inside leg seam from crotch to ankle.

The walk home was interesting, and my girlfriend of the time thought it was hilarious.
Stupidity got us into this mess. Why can't it get us out?

The front part of the sole on my Meindl Borneo's did that when I was miles from anywhere in Northumberland, I had to tie it on with baler twine that I found.
