Scandinavian wintermeet februari 2012

Hi guys,

I had the idea to plan/organise a Scandinavian wintermeet in februari 2012.

The date I had in mind, is the last full weekend of februari, being friday 24th untill sundag 26th. The goal of this meet is to get to know my "neighbours" since I am the new guy on this "block" and exchange experiences.

I want/have to limit this meet to Scandinavians only, since there's only so much room and these people know the terrain we operate in. Plus the fact that it is a first for me to organise something like this, so I don't want it to get to big, at first. Sorry, guys.

If you're interested, let me know, either by pm or directly here, so I know what I am getting into.

Here's what I've been thinking off;

Location; Sweden, Säters kommun, Southern Dalarna, which I think is relatively central to all.

Arrival friday,

2 overnighters in an armytent/lavvu, cooking for the group in a large kettle or Dutch oven. During the day... share skills, get to know each other, depends a bit on the weather, too. If it's too bad, we can sleep inside the house. (Here's where the room-issue comes in).

Just a quick reminder.

So far there will/might be attending; 3 people from Norway, 2 from Sweden, 1 from Denmark and maybe 1 from Finland.

the meet has been cancelled permanently!
pleople kept on dropping out and the weather just is quite a mess here; serious thaw, high temperatures, everything is soaking wet and being up to your knees in slush all day is not my idea of fun, either...

I'll try and give it a go again later on in spring.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was just about to start packing, but of course
we need proper snow to have a Winter Meet. I had really began to look
forward to meeting you RonW!

Personally I would'nt mind soaking wet weather...

We'll have another go at it I hope!
