Hi guys,
Im not inteding this to be a ''Ive got snow'', or a ''nope, no snow here'' thread
Was just wondering if anyone knows what the weather is/will be (possibly a clairvoyant moment... ) like around, and upto loch lomond/ mainly loch katrine in the coming days. As Im planning on heading to loch katrine early-mid November; in the hope that i'll beat any large snow falls!! - especially with the little car.
That's too far ahead for anyone to give you definitive advice. However, you should be OK unless there are any major dumps of snow. You are not going to altitude so you would be very unlucky not to get through on the roads. That said, road conditions can be tricky even without snowfall so be prepared for winter driving in icy conditions and make sure you have a winter emergency kit in the car in case you get stuck. If possible get something to help get your tyres going in any severe conditions. There are some good proprietary tyre skin systems these days.
Think you will be fine, we had a dump down to 600m but it has all but melted now. I was on the hill near Ullapool on the weekend and there were a just a few tiny patches. Keep an eye on this site it will tell you what's going on: http://www.mwis.org.uk/mmdpjoxfq/WH.PDF
