    Lightbulb balsa wood as a base?

    i recently compleated a friction firelighting course (woodlandsurvivalcrafts), it was suggested balsa would be a good wood for a hand drill base.

    anyone tried it?

    Balsa wood in my opinion is too soft and you can go through it pretty quick!
