    Default Greenland: Inuit Seal Butchery *warning dead animals*

    Just spent the last month in Greenland during which I was lucky enough to be able to film an Inuit couple in Uppernarvik pull in there catch dispatch and butcher them.

    throat slit, you can see in the first picture at the beginning of the video.
    They were fished for with large baited hooks on nylon rope.

    did you get to eat any of it ??? Ive never had the chance to eat seal meat before !! i`m curious to how it taste,s - i don,t think i could stomach the meat they bury in the ground to preserve it for months on end !!!!

    the thing that amazes me is that only his hands are bloody, i know if i tried that i would be covered in blood all over !

    Brilliant video cheers matey!, I seem to be becoming fascinated by Ulu type knives and there different styles and uses, a real multi use food knife, not sure why but i feel surprised at the amount of work there is in a seal, brilliant!

    I have made a couple of Ulu,s Southey they are fantastic !Very good for working leather as well.

    Jeez i forgot all about those i remember seeing that a while back , you should try making an ulu though very easy , i made them out of an old diamond tip stihl saw blade .
