I'm embarrassed to post mine after all these works of art . I've carved maybe 4 spoons, 2 of which I gave to my dad (and one of those was eaten by his Newfoundland!).

Here are the two I kept. One turned into more of a trowel My wife uses it as a herb dispenser, and my 2 year old son uses it as a teether.

The other is definitely a spoon, but not a patch on the ones above.

This is my first spoon. Not sure what timber it is, I found it chopping firewood and liked the grain.
Its carved entirely with an axe, smoothes out the bowl with a but if sandpaper, and fouled with walnut oil.
I use it for my cornflakes every now and again.

I am impressed by the amount of spoons made by the people who use these forums, what impresses me the most is the quality of the work put into making such items. Great work peeps.

made a couple of spoons last night, and for the first time i turned a spoon on the lathe (the one on the left) basicly you just turn all the shape than cut a side away then carve the bowl as normal,i quite like this style but you cant lug a gurt lathe about in the woods can you?!

    thanks for looking.

Heres a set of Salad servers that I just finished this weekend while away camping with the Girlfriend and little one, also a small tea spoon size one that I quickly did in about 3/4 hr as a demo to a group at the camp site...

The salad servers are from Cherry, dont know what the smaller one is, was from the log pile, its got a couple of wood worm holes in it as well - no grubs tho, just for interest..

    Here's some of mine.

Left to right, my second ever spoon (sold my first one), a big chunky effort in cherry, but I really like its shape. Then my main camping user spoon, in ivy, with centre grain. Shows radial cracks but is solid. Then a big fork (not sure of the wood), and finally my bone knifork, also a user.

    A few spalted larch spoons

A big birch ladle that I made a few years ago.

I haven't made a spoon in ages. Must have another go.
