    I'm taking my Snugpak Softie 9 (Hawk), probably be too hot in it though for what it's worth.

    I'd go warmer if you're not sure, saying that I'll be in my coldest flimsiest bag. It's still warm at night, especially if there's cloud cover.

    good idea mark im sure those partaking will chip in for the gear you bought.

    as far as other activities go we have the following on offer so far;

    firelighting techniques (various)
    navigation, compass map and star reading
    axe sharpening
    shelter building
    woodspirit carving

    and of course the ongoing maintenance of the wood for those that want to help.
    feel free to nominate any other activities that may be of interest.

    or of course just do your own thing

    'Light' and 'Martin' shouldn't normally be included in the same sentence without some sort of a get-out clause. :

    Katanga, my friends.

    Quick update.

    The farmer is doing some work on the cattle grids at the farm entrance, as a result it is now closed. There is a gap (I'm told) just after the gate, that leads into a field, past the farm buildings and brings us to the stand pipe and toilet block. As it is crossing a field, keep your speed down and avoid rutting the track if possible.

    I'll be there approx 1030. I will (once I've sussed it) mark the gate and path with orange tape to give people an idea of where to go.

    Unless told otherwise, kit is to be dropped at the top end of the wood and cars returned to CP1, by the stand pipe/toilet block.

    See you there.
