I've just heard that Cambridgshire council are no longer going to require developers to take into consideration any archaeological remains when applying for permission to dig up the Fens. Normally some archaological investigationis a standard part of any planning application(even if it's just somebody looking at the appllication and shrugging their shoulders). For those that don't know, the Fens has a huge amount of untouched archaeology lying beneath the ground and if it's not recorded as its ripped up then we will never know what has been lost.
Apparently they will overturn that ridiculous decision if enough people sign a petition against it. So if you want to add your name to the campaign then please please click the linky below.
