    Question GoLite Shangri-La 3 Question

    Hello all,

I hope that maybe some Shangri-La 3 (or 5) owners can answer my question. I was curious if the Shangri-La Nest's floor is the same as the seperate floor (the one without mossie net) or is the seperate floor stronger or more waterproof than that of the nest's floor? I ask because I want to know if I really need both the Nest and the seperate floor, or will I be fine with just the Nest?

    -Thanks!

I make do with a half nest http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/con...alf-inner-nest.
and a half hex floor http://www.backpackinglight.co.uk/pr...asp?PageID=126

But then the tent is used solo.

Stick with the nest, little saving in weight over the floor and IIRC the half nest thing weighs more?

Depends if you get fabric or net, mines the net version

I've go the nest from BPL and it's ok if there are lots of mozzies but the floor isn't waterproof, tbh unless the insects are going to cause a problem I wont' bother the with nest.
