    Default Brasso is awesome.

I was told my trangia would burn a lot better if I got some brasso and cleaned inside where the meths goes, and the little holes at the top. I finally got around to it and did go a bit mental with the brasso I have to admit, but I do like the results!

Couldn't get it perfect, but it's definately an improvement!

And does it work any better then ?

You might have to pin some of the holes after polishing

Ooooooo nice idea that, but does it make it work any better?? if so, think I'll give it a go too.

Haven't tried it yet, I pinned out the holes before and after so hopefully it will be easier to light and will hold a steady flame.

And yes it will get dirty again, I just started and couldn't stop!

Takes me back a few years...polishing brass / copper for the sake of it brings back memories of mind numbing tedium and exhaustion.

    Does it work any better?

Clean and shiny but it won't improve the burning characteristics of the burner at all. Cleaning out the holes with a paper clip is the only maintenance you need to carry out.

Nice work. Takes me back to my Navy days. We used a lot of Brasso.
