    Default Rucksack for my son

    Hi all

My son (who is 9) will be joining me for a few jaunts this year and I am after a pack that will not only satisfy his hankerings to be an elite SAS Ninja bushcrafter () but will also enable him to share a little of his father's pack mule load. Will be going to Glyn y Mul over 1/2 term so I will need to haul in all the kit from the car...and as lightweight as I try to be ...he makes up for minimalism with a vengeance. I have tried him with my 40 and 30l sacks and I reckon he could probably get away with a 25l (if there is one).

Of course I have done some research but wondered if some of you have any recommendations.

thanks in advance for any thoughts

I bought these BCB 25 litre daysacks for my boys aged 9 and 10. Good bit of gear for what they need to carry. I am not suggesting that you have to get it from this seller (shop around). I have no connection to the seller yada yada yada...

I have a Dutch army daypack and so does my son, age 10. It is about the max. size for him at this moment, since he isn't the biggest 10-year old around.....
These come in green, woodland- and desertcamouflage and hold about 30L.

There are also German Bundeswehr (army) backpack, about the same size andthere are replicas, based on these backpacks, which are a bit smaller, about 25L.
There is an ebayseller, 123allesdabei, who has these, so you might get an idea what I'm talking about.

secondry school in a few years time cos I no the first thing u will say is its two expensive

Some nice choices there lads, thanks

Drew, I love the SF but at £50 - 60 he will outgrow the need to carry only 25l too quickly to warrant spending that much money.

Puddock and Beenn these seem like good choices (plenty of colourways for him to choose), just doing a bit more digging re the straps on the mini Alice.

RonW Like this idea as it may last that bit longer, but doing some more research.

    Thanks again
