Help with bracelet please.

Hi,
I was put forward by my better half to make a leather bracelet for a friend.
I have never made this kind of thing before but therein lies the challenge......


Asking for insperation this image turned up

I have some horn/bone/antler/woods to make a similar end fastening but the leather braid is the problem....

Any ideas welcomed....i tried braiding using you tube....but the leather i have is not right for the size.....

Think I saw some of you vids last night, when I was researching.

Problem is though, is there a ratio between thickness and width of leather.....I think the stuff I have is to thick.
Or is there any prewrapped material.....

certainly the photo you showed has very thin leather. the look would be different with thicker stuff, but the braid would still work.
